Looking for a new crafting project to express your creativity? Creating your own stickers is an incredible way to design your own art- and the sky’s the limit as far as what’s possible!
Ranging from bumper stickers to phone decals, you can create any size, shape, or color sticker by following these 5 simple steps.
What you’ll need:
- Computer software to print image
- inkjet printer
- printable vinyl or printable sticker paper
- cutting machine
1. Find or Create Your Design
You can either find designs online that are already finished or create your own. To find sticker ideas that you like; start by searching for sticker ideas, using Google, Pinterest, or any other search engine.
Once you find an image you like, right click it and save the image to your computer. Then you are able to open a Word document or other similar software in order to print off the sticker using printable sticker paper.
You also have the option to create your own design by dragging and dropping graphics using a free online software (no download needed) called Canva.com
2. Purchase Printable Vinyl or Printable Sticker Paper
After you have found or created your own decal design, you will need to purchase printable sticker paper or printable vinyl. Royal Elements has a wide range of options, all sized in 8.5” x 11” full label sticker sheets.
Clear sticker paper, glossy white, and matte white waterproof sticker sheets are all available from Royal Elements, so pick and choose based on your preference!
Visit our store page for more information. All of our products are sold using Amazon prime- so you will get FREE 2-Day shipping if you are a Prime member!
3. Print Design on Printable Vinyl Sticker Paper using Inkjet Printer
Printing your decal is the exact same process as printing on normal printer paper. You may need to adjust your printer settings depending on the type of sticker paper used (i.e. set to “glossy photo paper” on your printer settings if using our premium photo sticker paper).
Simply open up the document with the design you want and print it out using an inkjet printer- making sure you allow the ink to dry for at least 5 minutes. You can change the sizing of the image as long as it fits onto an 8.5”x11” page.
4. Cut Out and Peel Off
Our printable vinyl and sticker paper is compatible with cutting machines such as Silhouette and Cricut. You could also use scissors to cut out your design.
Simply cut out your design and peel off the backing sheet. Our stickers are best used on smooth, hard surfaces such as glass, wood, plastic, metal, and much more!
5. Laminate Your Sticker
If you plan on using your stickers outdoors or in harsh conditions, we highly recommend using our Royal Elements laminating sheets in order to protect and seal your stickers so that they become fully waterproof, dishwasher safe, and scratch proof!
